Official Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro: the first in the world with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip

The giant of Chinese technology Xiaomi just launched its new one Civic 4 Pro, which adds to its line of devices initially designed for the female audience but which is now conquering a wider audience thanks to its attractive design and excellent performance. So let's see the distinctive features of the Civi 4 Pro and how it positions itself in the smartphone market.

The Civi 4 Pro follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Civil 3, maintaining a similar design but with significant improvements. The back of the device features a circular camera island that contains three lenses and an LED flash module, surrounded by a textured metal ring that matches the color of the back. Colors available include Spring Field Green, Soft Mist Pink, Breeze Blue and blackor, with Spring Field Green which stands out for its shiny finish and patterns reminiscent of moving water, obtained through a colored gilding process. The side of the device is flat with curved ends for a more comfortable grip

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro comes with one screen from 6,55 inches slightly curved features ultra-narrow bezels and a resolution of 2750 x 1236 pixels, with a pixel density of 460 PPI. The display offers full coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, a refresh rate up to 120Hz and peak brightness of 3000 nits.

The new flagship sub is powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor octa-core, manufactured on TSMC's 4nm node, offering a peak clock speed of 3.0GHz on its main Cortex-X4 core. The processor is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. According to official data, the device can maintain an average frame rate of 59.4 FPS during a 30-minute gaming session with Genshin Impact, also highlighting a notable improvement in AI-based applications.

As for photography, the Civi 4 Pro's camera system has received major improvements, with a 800MP OIS stabilized OmniVision Light Fusion 50 primary sensor behind one Leica Summilux lens. The phone also includes a portrait camera + 1MP Samsung JN50 telephoto lens with f/1.98 aperture and autofocus, as well as a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with a 120° field of view and an f/2.2 aperture.

While the dual front camera setup features a 32MP main sensor with a 78° FOV, f/2.0 aperture, 2X portrait close-up and autofocus, and a second 32MP ultra-wide camera with an ultra-wide 100° viewing angle, 4K ultra-clear image quality, AI distortion correction algorithm, f/2.4 aperture and EIS video stabilization. All cameras on the device feature Leica customization and special Leica photography modes.

The Civi 4 Pro is equipped with a 4700mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging, promising a full charge in 40 minutes. To keep temperatures under control, the device uses a 4184mm² vapor chamber cooling system.

The device runs with HyperOS based on Android 14 and supports 5G, dual-band WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity with AAC/LDAC/LHDC support. It also includes NFC and infrared, as well as offering a variety of navigation options such as Beidou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS and AGNSS assisted positioning.

The new Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro will be available for sale in China starting from March 21 at 15:30 am and it will be possible to make the reservation from March 26 at 10:00 am, with the first sale scheduled for April 1st at 10am. The prices of the different versions are as follows: the 12GB + 256GB version is offered at 2999 Yuan (around 380 euros), the 12GB + 512GB version at 3299 Yuan (around 420 euros), and the 16GB + 512GB special edition will be available at 3599 Yuan (around 460 euros). At the moment there is no information on the global availability of the device, but as often happens it could also arrive here under another name or brand.
