Xiaomi increasingly accessible: the partnership with Shell arrives

One of Xiaomi's goals is not just that of make technology accessible in terms of prices (compared to the competition). The accessibility that the Chinese giant tries to achieve is also at the level of reaching of users. One of the methods it is using, the most immediate, is the one that provides for the subdivision of some products (smartphone in particular) into certain ranges. Redmi, for example, offers more affordable devices. But in terms of reaching users? Here it is Xiaomi moves together with Shell, well-known name in the field of fuel distribution.

Xiaomi India announced its partnership with Shell, with the aim of making its range of accessories more accessible to consumers. Starting the partnership a Bangalore, the pilot project is currently being implemented at 5 Shell service stations where consumers will be able to buy a selected range of 24h accessories. Some of the products available at Shell filling stations will include Mi Portable Electric Air Compressor, Mi Smart Band 5, Mi 2A Fast Charger with cable, Mi Beard Trimmer 1C, Redmi Earbuds 2C, Redmi Power Bank 20000mAh and many others. At the moment no smartphones are available, but it's pretty easy to think these devices will be featured.

Sunil Baby, Senior Director Offline sales of Xiaomi India, said:

Through our partnership with Shell, the goal is to increase the availability and accessibility of Xiaomi India's range of accessories in the country for consumers. We are confident that this partnership will be a disruptor in changing the dynamics of our accessories retail business in our rural markets along with advancing ease of purchase for consumers with 24/24 availability.

Sanjay Varkey, Director of Shell Retail India, then said:

We are delighted to partner with a brand like Xiaomi India that follows a similar philosophy to Shell's: to provide customers with the best products and product experience. With this partnership, we are excited to explore the world of electronics and look forward to creating a lasting relationship with the brand.

As anticipated, such collaboration is exclusive to India for the moment. It is not possible to say whether Xiaomi will also collaborate with Shell in Italy. However, some "minor" products could easily reach the shelves of these outlets.
