Xiaomi will create two more production facilities in India

Xiaomi's intent to expand is certainly not new and many of its current attentions are directed towards the Indian market, where it is known that there is a strong demand for smartphones and other electronic devices. As proof of this, according to theEconomic Times, the Chinese company is planning to increase its production of devices on Indian soil through the creation of two new manufacturing plants.

In fact, according to the statements of the co-founder and president of Xiaomi, Bin Lin, reported in the aforementioned publication, the company plans to produce smartphones, peripherals and components in India. Last year Xiaomi collaborated with an Indian company (Foxconn) to produce it Xiaomi Redmi Notes 2 Prime at your Sri City facility. This was the first device of the company belonging to the "Make in India"(Made in India) and now Foxconn is responsible for the production of the 75% of Xiaomi smartphones in Sri City, succeeding in selling it further 1 million phones per quarter.

Bin Lin also said the company has opened talks with Foxconn regarding the construction of two new smartphone manufacturing facilities and the head of the Chinese company's Indian division. Manu Jain, said he is pushing a lot to get "approval to start building at least one of the two structures and make it work by the end of this year." He also mentioned that he was interested in wanting to obtain the Xiaomi Xiaomi retail retail license in India by submitting an application to the Department of Political and Industrial Promotion (DIPP).

Last month, India overtook the United States to become the second largest smartphone market in the world, so it makes sense that Xiaomi's willingness to increase and strengthen its presence on the territory, entering a highly competitive market, makes sense.
