Xiaomi should follow Canonical's road?

Despite what makes smartphone users or tablets interesting, they are mainly technical features, we must not forget that software is the true glue of everything. Powerful hardware without optimized software and rich features does not work at all. In this sense, Xiaomi manages to get the best out of its smartphones and tablets thanks to the MIUI ROM. However, if we look at the new competition that is emerging on the market, we find that there are a lot of things that the MIUI ROM might have. A concrete example is the adaptation to different displays.

Recently Canonical has released a new tablet, made in collaboration with the BQ manufacturer, whose on-board software is a special version of Ubuntu. The peculiarity of this new tablet is not so much the top-of-the-range technical card (which is not absolutely it) but how much the ability to adapt to screens. In fact, it has a 10,1 inch display, but if it is connected to an external monitor (it has a micro HDMI connector), the graphics interface is not simply reproduced as it is but comes adapted for desktop use. In other words, it's like a kind of Continuum on Ubuntu.

For example, let's think of a hypothetical Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 that can run the Android operating system when it is used normally and Linux distribution (or a version of MIUI adapted for desktop computer) when connected to an external monitor. You would not like to have this flexibility of use. The same thing, and probably would be even more useful, could be made with smartphones. In short, the world of smartphones is increasingly evolving and having a universal device is a viable one.
