Xiaomi returns to the world of projectors almost a year after the last one Mijia presented in January. However, today's one is not branded Mijia, but was produced by Fengmi, another sub-brand of the Chinese giant. Let's go then to discover the main features of the new Xiaomi Fengmi Vogue Projector!
Xiaomi Fengmi Vogue Projector: The new 3699 Yuan projector (470 €)
The Fengmi Vogue Projector comes with a new image quality enhancement technology called FAV (Feng Advanced Video). So, in practice, it is an algorithm developed in-house by Fengmi Technology. This technology is supposed to optimize brightness, color gamut, color reproduction (such as skin color), decrease HDMI signal latency, and much more. In other words, the whole viewing experience will improve dramatically.
As for the brightness, the projector can produce a maximum of 1500 ANSI lumens in "highlight mode", Fengmi says that it is therefore about 150% brighter than conventional projectors. Then we have over 85% of the NTSC color range, for rich and vivid colors. While to improve the reproduction of the details there has been an upgrade of the algorithm that will improve the clarity of the images without creating the oversharpening effect.
As we said earlier, the projector was then optimized to reduce the latency of the HDMI signal. We will therefore have a delay of only 40ms in Game Mode, for an improvement of around 50% compared to the predecessors.
The Xiaomi Fengmi Vogue Projector has a projection ratio of 1,1: 1, therefore almost identical to the size of the projected image. This means we can place it very close to the wall, saving space at home. While if positioned at a distance of 2,5 meters we can project an image from 100 inches diagonal and with Full HD resolution.
From a design perspective, the projector adopts a modern geometric shape in the Bauhaus style. In fact, we have a completely cubic body with the projector lens positioned in front of the Fibonacci spiral. Moreover, this lens is also covered in Corning Gorilla Glass to reduce the possibility of scratches and has an anti-reflective film to allow light to pass through without distortion.
Finally, as regards the internal hardware, the Fengmi Vogue projector uses a high-performance processor, the Amogic T972 specifically created for projectors with a maximum frequency of 1.9GHz, the 63% lower than the previous generation for a decrease in consumption of around 55%. Then there is support for 8K video decoding and runs with the MIUI TV operating system like many other Xiaomi projectors.
The Xiaomi Fengmi Vogue Projector is now in crowdfunding at the 3699 Yuan figure, or on the 470 € at current exchange rates.
