As we well know, Xiaomi is always looking for new devices that for better or for worse try to give as much choice as possible to users. Often this is what the company aspires to but it is well known that presenting numerous devices at too close a time could prove to be an own goal. In any case, two new smartphones were discovered by the team of XDA: these are two devices from 64 and 108 megapixels which are called respectively Gauguin and Gauguin Pro. Time ago too Digital Chat Station, the well-known Chinese leaker, had named one of the two. Let's see what has been discovered.
Xiaomi is working on the production of two new devices belonging to the same series: Gauguin and Gauguin Pro. Here are the first specifications
As discovered by the well-known member of the developer team kacskrz and the senior counterpart DEIC Lei Jun's company is planning two new devices whose name would seem to be that of the famous post-impressionist painter. As is clear, in the near future, a standard version and a Pro will be presented. The name Gauguin it has already been mentioned by the well-known Chinese leaker above and this bodes well: the data come back and therefore we can trust the leaks.
Let's see what are the characteristics of the two new devices. First, according to what the XDA members discovered the two devices they will make their debut in all markets: Indian, Chinese and global. Secondly both models will be equipped with a Qualcomm SoC: it is premature to say which processor will be integrated, but considering that we already know the megapixels supported by each of them, an idea we can do.
In this regard, there is a clarification: the data held by the developers are a bit confused: according to the MIUI 12 China strings, the Chinese models Gauguin and Gauguin Pro will both have 108 megapixels, While the global and Indian 64 megapixel variants. They are sure that this is a mistake: in fact it would be an injustice for international users.
As for the names (not coded) of the two smartphones and the other features, it is too early to make hypotheses. We hope, however, that they can come out within the year, perhaps accompanying the long-awaited Xiaomi Mi Mix 4.
