Xiaomi is the fourth largest smartphone brand in the world and the second in China. Its popularity is mainly due to the mid-range segment of the market due to the Redmi series, but also to top devices like the Mi Mix 2, sequel to the Mi Mix still defined today as the concept phone created in collaboration with the French designer Phillipe Starck.
Xiaomi is coming penetrating also in western countries opening branches that offer and give the opportunity to touch with hands even other company products, such as drones, wearables, action cams, vacuum robots and much more not really tech like towels and bathroom utensils, but always characterized by the indisputable quality that brings the signature of Xiaomi.
But why do I tell you this? For the simple fact that Xiaomi has sapientemente known to prove to be a company able to excel in every sector so much so that he is thinking of enter the mobile gaming world by launching a new brand called Black Shark. In the laptop segment, we have brands that appeal to players like Asus' ROG and Dell's Alienware. Xiaomi seems to want to do the same with smartphones, in fact the Black Shark brand will focus on the task of prun smartphones dedicated to gaming.
According to the leaked news, the first Black Shark smartphone will have a top-of-the-line processor with the possibility of integrating a DSP (Digital Signal Processor: a processor that can be programmed for a specific purpose) and a cooling system inspired by those used in aviation.
Tianjin Venus Investment was founded by Xiaomi in December 2013, which owns nearly 22% of Black Shark. We could therefore see the smartphone for Xiaomi games already in the coming months, or at least hopefully. Black Shark will then compete with Razer Phone presented last year, offering the same quality and performance but at a definitely more competitive price, fully adopting Lei Jun's OEM philosophy.
