You read that right, Lei Jun's company returns the full purchase amount of Xiaomi Mi 1. Just the original amount. But why? Xiaomi has decided to celebrate the upcoming anniversary of its first smartphone, the Mi 1. The device debuted ten years ago and precisely it was announced on August 18, 2011. At yesterday's presentation in China, where, in addition to the smartphone and the robot-dog, the tablets were presented Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro and the new ones OLED TVs, the patron of the brand has launched this bomb.

For the uninitiated, a "red envelope”In China, it is just a gift that very often people give to other people at a party. Well, Lei Jun has decided to make this gift in the form of a red envelope. This red envelope will be given to each of the first users of the Xiaomi Mi 1 smartphone as a thank you and the price will be 1999 yuan (About € 265). Ten years ago, Xiaomi Mi 1 went on sale for 1999 yuan, with 184.600 units sold and 370 million yuan received. This was the company's first profit and we decided to give it back in full 

Note that in April 2020, Xiaomi announced the sale of over 7 million Mi 1 since its release. At the time of release, the device was a real flagship. The smartphone came with a 4 ″ Sharp screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, a single-chip dual-core system Qualcomm MSM8260, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of flash memory and a battery from 1930 mAh. The smartphone used the first version of MIUI based on the Android 2.3.6 operating system.
