Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra official with 120Hz display, 120x zoom and 120W charging

The day has finally come for the long-awaited speech by Lei Jun, who has just celebrated the 10th anniversary of the brand in an online conference. One of the ways in which the anniversary was celebrated was the launch of the new Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, the most premium and expensive smartphone ever produced by the brand, if we don't count the Mi MIX Alpha which never went on the market anyway. The Mi 10 Ultra improves some of the features that we already found in the excellent Mi 10 Pro released at the beginning of the year, adding new ones that make it one of the most interesting flagships on the market.

As always, let's start with the display, a 6,67-inch diagonal panel, of the AMOLED type and with a refresh rate of 120Hz, therefore an excellent upgrade compared to the 90Hz of the standard version, and Full HD + resolution. Other features include a maximum brightness of 1200 nit and a contrast of 5000000: 1. However, the curved side edges and the single hole in the upper left for the front camera remain.

On the back we find the new back cover in silver and transparent colors, as well as a module with four cameras in total. Here the design is completely different from its predecessor, with a large rectangular module and one of the four sensors surrounded by a silver silhouette to distinguish it from the other three. This sensor would in fact be coupled to a periscope lens that allows a maximum zoom of 120x, divided into 10x via optical and the rest in a hybrid / digital way; all accompanied by optical stabilization.

As for the other three cameras, we have the main 48MP one with a size of 1 / 1.32 inches, focal aperture 1 / 1,69 and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) stabilization, then optical stabilization. Then we have a secondary ultra wide angle camera with a resolution of 20MP and finally the third with a resolution of 2MP and a lens for macro photos. For selfies we find instead an unspecified 20MP sensor. There will be support for recording 8K videos, while images will be shot in HEIF format, to reduce the file size by at least 50% while maintaining the same image quality.

Moving on to the internal hardware, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is equipped with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 as the Mi 10 Ultra. Although in reality it is a new slightly overclocked Chinese version that allows it to obtain better results in the benchmarks (over 660 thousand points on AnTuTu), in ordinary use we will probably not notice any differences. In any case, the CPU is supported by 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of internal UFS 3.1 memory.

To power the Mi 10 Ultra there is a 2250 mAh dual cell battery which equates to a total of 4500 mAh. But one of the most interesting features of the device is the charging technology. The smartphone adopts the new Xiaomi Turbo Flash Charge that allows you to recharge at a maximum power of 120W, something never seen before and that makes Xiaomi return to the top with the fastest charging on the market; title temporarily stolen by OPPO with the Find the X2 Pro which supports 65W. This ultra-fast charging should allow us to recharge the smartphone from 0% to 100% in about 23 minutes (41% in just 5 minutes).

But it doesn't end there, because wireless charging is no exception. Xiaomi has in fact presented the new wireless charging technology with a maximum power of 50W. Here too it is a new record of a record that already belonged to Xiaomi with the Mi 10 Pro which supports 30W wireless charging. Finally, the reverse wireless charging to recharge other wireless devices such as TWS headphones remains with a maximum power of 10W.

From the point of view of connectivity, the smartphone supports dual mode 5G, so they work with SA and NSA networks. There is also the new WiFi 6 module that will allow the device to reach speeds never seen before while reducing battery consumption. Among other features we also find NFC, infrared ray emitters and dual frequency GPS.

Finally, for prices, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra was presented in China with a starting price of 5299 yuan (650 €) for the 8 GB / 128GB version and up to a maximum of 6999 Yuan (850 euros) for the one with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory.
