Basically, as has happened for other sensors, this particular smartphone target was developed in partnership with Xiaomi. In essence, Samsung and Lei Jun's brand cooperated to develop and produce it. This means that its potential is "sewn" on the next device that will integrate it, which is the Mi 11 Ultra or the Mi 11 Pro. But let's talk about performance.

Samsung ISOCELL GN2 is a photo sensor from 1 / 1.12 " with resolution 50 megapixels and 1.4 μm pixel size. Like all optics of this type, it offers technology pixel-binning, that is, the one that groups more pixels of the same size within an area of one pixel larger. This involves taking shots with a higher resolution in that digital detail processing is more accurate. Specifically the images are actually from 12.5 megapixels with 2.8 μm pixels.

Uses an intelligent redial algorithm to capture three 50 megapixel frames (red, green and blue) and create a 100 megapixel image for higher details. What makes this new sensor from Samsung unique is the technology Dual Pixel Pro. It is a new algorithm that allows a focusing much faster compared to the previous generation. The new sensor has 100 million phase detection agents for ultra-fast focusing. Furthermore, it uses not only vertical focus but diagonal focus as well for more reliable performance. The new mechanism HDR also consumes 24% less energy compared to traditional HDR.

Samsung's next-generation sensor can also acquire Full HD resolution video up to 480 fps and 4K video up to 120 fps.
