The new version of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory has become, in practice, official now that we also know the price, which to be precise is 1799 Yuan, that is about 230 €.
With this tag, the new model is positioned between the 6GB / 64GB variant, which currently costs (in China) 1699 Yuan (220 €) and the one with 6GB / 128GB which instead costs 1999 Yuan (255 €). So the price of 1599 Yuan (204 €) that we had hoped to see a few days ago has unfortunately not come true. But now a question arises, who is interested in a smartphone with that amount of memory when the version with 6GB of RAM is cheaper, even if with "only" 64GB of internal memory?

Obviously you could argue that you do not necessarily need 6GB of RAM in a mid range and that having 128GB of internal memory to store more files is much more important, especially given the lack of the microSD card slot.
Controversies aside, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition (Lite in Europe) is definitely a very interesting terminal in that price range. It is in fact equipped with a Snapdragon 660 AIE processor with excellent performance, a very youthful and eye-catching design with a gradient colored rear glass and a 6.26 inch screen with Full HD + resolution.
We then find one of the best rear cameras on the market at 12MP with f/1.9 aperture, 1.4µm pixels and dual pixel autofocus coupled with a secondary 5MP f/2.0 camera, while on the front there is a 24MP sensor with 1.8µm pixels for selfies full of detail and little noise even in low-light situations.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition comes with a 3350mAh battery, which is not really bad considering the "small" and compact form factor and runs with MIUI 10 based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
What do you think of this new version? Can it interest someone?
