La Xiaomi Mi Band 6 it is undoubtedly a valid product even if, as our Emanuele says, it is not really worth investing these 40 € of expenditure. After all, it is a fifth generation smartband with a larger screen. A useful function that, however, we do not find in the previous version is that of send quick replies via SMS. But even with this feature, is it okay to buy it? Maybe not, but knowing that a really useful update... maybe there is a little thought to do. Let's see in detail what it is.
UPDATE: THE FUNCTIONALITY HAS ALSO ARRIVED ON THE SMARTBAND IN GLOBAL VERSION
Xiaomi Mi Band 6 receives a really useful update in China and Europe: the possibility of being used as a flashlight. No more fear of the dark!
According to Chinese sources, the Mi Band 6 is receiving a very interesting update these days (clearly for now only in China). This comes with build number V1.0.4.38_android_165 and bring, hear hear, the torch! But how is it possible to use the flashlight on the Mi Band 6 when no sensor of this type is integrated? Very simple, using the OLED screen. In fact, within the settings, a function has been inserted that allows you to turn on the flashlight when needed. Let's see in the images below how.
Going to the settings of the Mi Band 6, we will find the menu "Other". Here, going down, we will find several other menus such as "Tomato Timer","Camera","stopwatch","timer","Find device"and "silent". Right here will be the “Torch” option just arrived. By activating it we can do light up the smartband's OLED screen white in order to use it as a flashlight. As we said in the introduction, the functionality is now only available for the sixth generation smartbands with Chinese firmware.
It is not excluded that the same functionality (as happened other times) can arrive on the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 globeL. Indeed, we are convinced that it will. Despite everything this is not a feature that requires additional chips, such as NFC.
UPDATE: HOW TO TURN ON THE TORCH ON MI BAND 6
With the latest smartband update in version overall, comes the torch for her too. In addition to the Chinese variant, therefore, we can also use it. How to do? With this simple guide:
- first we need to access the Bracelet settings on the home page
- then we select Display settings: for those who do not know, here we can choose what are the options visible on the smartband screen
- we go down and search Torch: now let's drag it to a position that is convenient for us and save the settings
You can also select the flashlight as a quick access setting, here's how:
- always on the same screen Bracelet settings, we select Quick access settings
- Let's choose the flashlight as before and insert it in the quick access screen
- the quick access screen is the one we use by swiping left and right from the home page of the smartband.
