Together with the smartwatch Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, the Chinese company today announced the global release of the Mi Band 8 fitness tracker. In addition to the release of these wearables and the series Xiaomi 13t, there was an unexpected presentation of a completely new device: Xiaomi Mi Band 8 Active. This is a modified version and much cheaper than the standard one. Here are the specs and details and why it's worth buying.

Xiaomi Mi Band 8 Active looks more like a smartwatch. The fitness tracker is equipped with a screen TFT from 1,47 inches with a resolution of 320×172 pixels and a peak brightness of up to 500 nit. This demonstrates not only the company's attention to user requests for a larger screen, but also a desire to shorten that gap between smartband and smartwatch. The measurements of the smartband are 42.81 × × 25.42 9.99 mm.
Xiaomi Mi Band 8 Active only supports 50 sports modes, of which 10 are for professional runners. The ability to measure the user's pulse, blood oxygen saturation level, sleep quality and other physical parameters is also declared. And more than are available 100 different watch faces for customization.

In short, it is a complete smartband as it provides all the technical features for a sports lover; however, as we see for the amount of sports provided, the software is slightly neutered. Poco bad anyway, given the width of the screen which compensates for everything.

Unlike the standard version smartband, however, this one only supports connectivity with Bluetooth 5.1 and not 5.2. From this point of view it is like last year's Mi Band 7.

This is the strong point of the smartband: Xiaomi Mi Band 8 Active it costs only €24.99 on Official site of the company. That's an insane price for such a wearable. According to initial analyses, this smartband will make much more fortune than the other model: one “Lite” version is always favored by the market.
Furthermore, this could make Xiaomi understand that in reality a pro version smartband doesn't make that much sense.
