Yesterday's 2016 Google I / O was also featuring Xiaomi, which presented a new version of Xiaomi Mi box with Android TV on board. The thing that is most surprising, however, are not the very important technical characteristics (which we will see later on) but the fact that it will also be marketed in the USA. It was the same Hugo Barra who communicated it:

As for the technical features of the new Android TV Xiaomi Mi Box, the official product page is mentioned:
- Dimensions of 101 x 101 x 19,5 millimeters;
- Weight of 176,5 grams;
- A53 Cortex Quad Core CPUs with 2 Ghz and GPU Mali 450 at 3 + 2 Core (models unknown at this time);
- 2 GB RAM DDR3 RAM;
- 8 GB of internal storage;
- Wi-Fi connectivity: 802.11a / b / g / n / ac, Dual-band Wi-Fi 2.4GHz / 5GHz and Bluetooth 4.0
- Video signal decoding capability with H.265, VP9 codec in 4K resolution at 60 Hz and with HDR;
- Supports DTS and Dolby Digital Plus audio
- 2.0a HDMI connector
- Android TV operating system.
On the software side Xiaomi did not make any changes so we found a system with a stock interface. We remember that Android TV currently supports a large number of applications, including Netflix, YouTube, Tuneln Radio, NBA, Pandora, and so on. In addition, thanks to the capabilities of Google's operating system, only 3 steps are needed to be already operational with the Xiaomi Mi Box.
Bundled in the sales package will be inserted both a Bluetooth remote control with inside a vocal microphone and a gaming pad with 3 axes very useful in gaming situations.
Unfortunately, at the moment we do not know whether to indicate the exact date of release on the market or the selling price. Also, considering that the Xiaomi Mi Box Android TV will also be marketed in the US, we will not rule out any possible arrival in Europe as well.
