Xiaomi Mi Drop receives an important update

During the official presentation of MIUI 9 in November, the Chinese technology giant Xiaomi also released aproprietary application of file sharing called We Drop. This app really is user-friendly and free from ADS ads, reporting a clean interface and allowing users to send files without problems between Android smartphones or from smartphones to PC. However, like most of the applications being launched, Mi Drop has encountered some problems / shortcomings such as the absence of an option to set the username, as well as the use reserved only for users who have logged in to the 'Google account.

But Xiaomi has always been attentive to the needs of its users and to the care of its products, both physical and virtual, recently released an update for the Mi Drop application, solving not only the problems mentioned above, but also added a new feature that no other file sharing application has: Mi Drop is now equipped with FTP (File Transfer Protocol). To access this feature, users need to make sure that both the PC and the phone are connected to the same WiFi network.  A custom address will be created on the app that can be accessed on PC in Browser or File Manager.

Users can also enable thepassword-protected access to protect the FTP server and data, by default the option “Sign in anonymously” is enabled. Apart from this users can also select Transfer Encoding according to their preferences, since UTF-8, GKB and BIG 5 encoding options are available. There is also an option for keep the display awake while the FTP server is running. By transferring data from smartphone to PC you can get one transfer speed from 1,5 to 2 Mbps on average. Furthermore Xiaomi states that Mi Drop is able to resume interrupted transfers. Well we just have to take advantage of this valuable tool integrated into our Xiaomi devices but also for all other smartphones since the application is available on Play Store.
