In recent days, several rumors from China have suggested the arrival of two truly premium devices. We refer in particular to the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro + and to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 10. The first appeared in a leak with some very interesting specifications, while the second we know only the name.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 10 coming soon with 120Hz OLED screen
Well, today an update has always arrived from China on the latter. The news comes once again from the Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station, who has shared a fairly cryptic message on the social Weibo. Specifically, he said that "MIUI at 120Hz will soon be much better than MIUI at 90Hz and 120Hz".
According to Chinese media, this post would confirm the arrival of a 120Hz screen device. But what would be the news given that there is already a Xiaomi smartphone with a 120Hz refresh rate (we refer to the Redmi K30 released in December last year)? Well, this 120Hz screen device would adopt an OLED type panel instead of LCD (like on Redmi K30).
So Digital Chat Station means that this hypothetical smartphone with a 120Hz OLED screen will be much better than both the 120Hz LCD ones and the AMOLED ones with a 90Hz refresh rate, such as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro flagship.
But what device are we talking about? At the moment Xiaomi could be working on two devices with this type of display: the upgrade of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, which as previously mentioned will be called Mi 10 Pro +, and the Xiaomi Mi MIX 10 which would be leaked just yesterday on the official Xiaomi China profile.
If you are wondering why the smartphone is called Mi MIX 10 and not Mi MIX 4, which we have been waiting for for years, the explanation is simpler than you think. 2020 represents the tenth anniversary of the creation of Xiaomi, ergo the number 10. In addition, we have already seen something very similar with the Mi Note series which also jumped from 3 to 10 in the blink of an eye.
In any case, Xiaomi seems to have finally understood that many want the new 120Hz screens, especially on the more premium smartphones, so most likely we will have two of them arriving later this year.
