Xiaomi from the beginning was pointed out as a "clone" company of Apple, but those times are a long way off since the Chinese company has been able to bring out its own identity in all the products that it churns out daily. Yet the technological giant seems not to want to abandon the inspiration from other brands, but this time it aims even higher, offering a gadget that particularly resembles the Google Home Mini, the famous and widespread smart speaker with which to manage home automation and listen to music.
We speak of the Xiaomi Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker, which to judge the general aesthetic aspect, wants to follow precisely the footsteps of the Google Home Mini, thanks to a fabric texture at the top. The shape, however, is square and not circular, demonstrating a more harmonious look while at the bottom we find a rubberized case with non-slip treatment. Also included is a lace with which to hang it on the wrist or perhaps in the shower, as it enjoys IPX5 certification, which promises protection against splashes of water.

Xiaomi for its speaker has focused heavily on autonomy, as it integrates a 2000 mAh battery capable of giving up to 20 hours of listening, naturally rechargeable via the micro USB input positioned on the side of the rubberized surface, where it is also located the AUX input for the wired connection of devices that do not enjoy Bluetooth technology, which in the case of the Xiaomi Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker is 5.0 BLE type, which also allows pairing in Dual mode.
Also on the side of the case we find the power and play / pause keys as well as a small microphone with which you can manage calls or call up the smart assistant of your smartphone. The sound quality is guaranteed by a 5W driver with a decidedly generous volume, about 115 dB with a frequency range of 20-20 KHz. The asking price in India is 1399 rupees, or about 18 euros. Maybe some smart features typical of the Google Home Mini are missing, but in some ways the new Xiaomi speaker is more versatile, don't you think?
