Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 certified on 3C: battery capacity confirmed

Several Xiaomi executives have repeatedly revealed that the tablet category set aside for many years will finally be updated this year and that it will be equipped with unprecedented flagship specifications. Clearly, being Xiaomi, the next tablet will be called Mi Pad 5.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 certified on 3C: battery capacity confirmed

Well, today a Chinese blogger revealed that the battery inside the Mi Pad 5 has been certified by the 3C body in China. This certification shows us that the device will be equipped with a double cell battery with a capacity of 8720mah, therefore definitely lower than the 12000mAh we were talking about in the past weeks.

Also according to some previous reports, the Mi Pad 5 series will consist of two tablets, the Mi Pad 5 and the Mi Pad 5 Pro, respectively equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and Snapdragon 870 chips. The Pro version will focus on the high-end market as point of reference, so as to compete with products such as Apple's iPad and the Huawei Mate Pad Pro.

In addition to the flagship processor support, rumor has it that the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro may be equipped with a 2K resolution LCD screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz tactile sample rate, supports 4096 levels of the touch and In-Cell active pen technology. A technology that can bring smoother and more delicate viewing to large screen devices for touch pens.

Furthermore, Xiaomi executives have also revealed that the MIUI for Pad system will be developed specifically for the new tablets. Similar to what we saw for the Mi MIX FOLD, the tablet will also support handheld PC mode and provide a familiar interface for functioning as a computer, including the classic start menu and control center. You can also open multiple windows simultaneously, for a richer user experience.

Finally, as regards the price, it has been reported that the starting price of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 with Snapdragon 870 should be set at less than 3000 yuan, about 380 euros.
