At Xiaomi's spring launch conference, in addition to the new devices of the Mi 11 series, the new Mi band 6 and the smart projector, a new router was also launched: the Xiaomi Mi Router AX9000. A high-end router with first-class hardware and speed.

But let's start with the external look of the Mi Router AX9000, which adopts a very futuristic design with customized lighting effects and effects for the e-sport mode. There are also two pairs of heatsinks on the top and bottom, with the top heatsink using a quiet, low-noise fan for active heat dissipation and professional-grade results. There's even an independent exhaust air duct designed to help dissipate heat.
Going to the features, the brand has communicated that the router adopts the dual-band Wi-Fi 6 technology, but a separate 5G e-sport frequency band is added and so that the frequency bands do not interfere with each other. The frequency band for e-sport mode uses a Wi-Fi 5 chip and an independent antenna.
Compared to dual-band Mesh products, the Tri-band Mesh has an independent data return thanks to the independent connection frequencies of the various routers. The AX9000 Mi Router supports up to 10 Xiaomi Wi-Fi 6 routers to form a Mesh network and supports OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies.
But most importantly, the maximum speed of Xiaomi's router has reached 9000 Mbps, hence the name AX9000, with the bandwidth that has been increased to 160 MHz and the speed of the channels has been significantly improved.
The router also supports 4K QAM high-end modulation technology. That is, with a smartphone that also supports 4K QAM, the theoretical speed is increased by 20% compared to the traditional 1024AQM. So for example a smartphone from the Xiaomi Mi 11 series can reach a maximum speed of 3,5 Gbps.
In terms of internal specifications, the router is equipped with a six-core Qualcomm 14nm flagship chip with a computing power of 20240 DMIPS, 12 independent signal amplifiers, a built-in 2.5G high-speed network port, support for WAN / LAN switching and a USB 3.0 port. It is also possible to connect external storage devices such as hard drives.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mi Router AX9000 has a price of 999 yuan in China, about 130 euros at the current exchange rate.
