Yesterday, Monday 6 May, Xiaomi Group vice president and general manager of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain, revealed the results achieved by the Chinese brand in India at 5 years after its introduction in the country. During this period, Xiaomi has in fact become the largest smart TV manufacturer in India and ranks first in both the quality of after-sale service and the build quality of its products.
Today, however, it was the turn of Lei Jun, the co-founder and CEO of Xiaomi Group, who on the Chinese social media Weibo shared the excellent results obtained by Xiaomi India, and congratulated Manu.

According to data published by Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi televisions have been hugely successful since the beginning, when the 14 of 2018 was presented for the first time. Since then, Indian users buy Mi TV both online and in stores around the country and after 9 months from the date of introduction, more than 1 million TVs produced by Xiaomi have been sold. In fact, allowing the Chinese brand to become the first in India for the smart TV category.
The incredible success of Mi TVs in India is such that many media around the world have reported the results, then trying to explain the reasons behind this triumph. The most valid ones are three:
- Xiaomi India has worked with the largest online video provider in India, effectively securing the best content
- Indian users are quite tech-savvy and are always looking for devices with an excellent quality / price ratio
- The Mi TVs were released at competitive prices in India, which facilitated sales
In conclusion, Xiaomi continues to grow and dominate the Indian market, not only in the smartphone sector (as we have seen here) but also that of smart TVs.
