Through the usual listings published every quarter from AnTuTu we found that the Xiaomi Mi5 was the most powerful Q1 2016 smartphone. Most of the merit is surely the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, as it is the chip that runs both computational power and graphics power. With regard to the score obtained, the Xiaomi Mi5 reached well 136.875 points.
Unfortunately we do not know, although we have some opinion about it, if the smartphone tested and ranked at the top of AnTuTu's Xiaomi Mi5 base or the Xiaomi Mi5 Pro. Considering that CPU and GPU clocks are of great importance, we believe that this is the Pro variant.
Looking at the rest of the ranking, paired with the Xiaomi Mi5 we find the Samsung Galaxy S7 (also in this case we believe it is the version with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820) with a score of 134.599 points. Slightly backwards, we find iPhone 6s, and to go to the fourth place occupied by Huawei Mate 8, we have to get off well 40.000 points.
The ranking explains in a very important way how Xiaomi's decision to relocate to Qualcomm, a company that has been practically engaged in the smartphone world, instead of using proprietary SoCs as done by Huawei, has been well-received.
In the upcoming quarterly charts we will probably find Xiaomi again at the top of the list, except with the Mi5 with the Mi Note 2.
