Lo Xiaomi Mi5 was finally officially presented. This is a smartphone with the undeniable value for money that we now know all about. Or is it better to say "almost everything"?
Xiaomi Mi5: Hugo Barra spoke about global markets during the launch event!
Having attended the launch event in China and having had some work to do in the preparation of the our presentation article on Xiaomi Mi5, I allowed myself "the luxury" not to follow in live streaming the event attended by Hugo Barra at the MWC in Barcelona. Will I have done well? In light of what I'm about to tell you, the answer is almost certainly "NO"!
A few minutes ago, thanks to my colleagues at gizmochina.com, I became aware that during the Barcelona event, the vice president of Xiaomi Global, Hugo Barra, mentioned some textual words, "global markets". What would have meant that sympathizer of Barra?
Let's proceed with order. Hugo Barra has announced availability in China Xiaomi Mi5 starting from the first of March. He also added, although no precise date has been provided, that the company's new top range will soon be available in India as well. The interesting thing, however, is that after talking about the two most important markets for his company, he continued to talk about other "global markets"Where the Mi5 will be launched shortly.
The first thing that comes to mind is that maybe the VP of Xiaomi Global it referred to those countries as Brazil, Indonesia, etc. where your company is already present, but it has to be stated that I was not the only one to think in a possible expansion even in U.S.A and in Europe.
For a long time we speak of a possible entry of Xiaomi in these two markets, and what better opportunity to do that than to launch the Mi5 even there?
If this hypothesis happens, I would just say one thing: "Apple, Samsung, LG ... be careful! Xiaomi is coming".
Sadly, it's just a conjecture, Hugo Barra did not specify which global markets he really was talking about, so we'll have to wait for the next few weeks to learn something more.
