Many of you are filling us with requests to buy the brand new Xiaomi Mi 5c. In fact, it is a great handsome phone, and although it has a battery life with its 2850 mAh battery, it has been quite successful.
Today, however, we want to give you some information about the frequencies of the new Xiaomi device that, as you all know, is the first to mount the SoC Surge S1 owner.
First of all, here is a simple guide to enable European frequencies, since the Mi 5c is born with the only frequencies for China Mobile.
How to enable European frequencies on Xiaomi Mi 5c
From the numeric keypad, as you would call, type * # * # * # * # 1 and confirmed. There will be a screen like this where you will have to click on "Connect Technology".
At this point, we select the 5 modules for the 4G-LTE connection.
All that easy is true? Well, there's a great big MA. Although the procedure will also enable you to select the 3G frequencies, in fact, the connection to 3G will not be available and the download and upload speed will be practically the ones in the 2G.
Personally, until the scenarios are no longer clear, I do not recommend the purchase of the Xiaomi Mi 5c because you would find yourself a phone that can only be used in 2G and 4G, which in Italy is poco recommended given the data traffic speeds in 2G.
Most likely the Surge S1 chip will be upgraded via OTA, as stated by Xiaomi himself, but we do not know when and so we do not feel comfortable advising you to purchase the new device for use in Italy. If you still want to experiment and be prepared to wait for subsequent updates, you are free to launch this purchase.
In short, the important thing is to be informed!
