Xiaomi Mijia Full-effect Air Purifier announced: new air purifier with formaldehyde removal
Meanwhile, the official teaser released by Xiaomi shows us that the new Mijia Full-effect Air Purifier will support a formaldehyde removal technology. Xiaomi and the Institute of Process Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have in fact jointly developed the "aldehyde energy solution" technology, which can completely decompose formaldehyde into water and carbon dioxide.
In terms of design, this product adopts a similar look to that of the Mijia Air Purifier Ultra previously released, with a four-leaf clover shape (seen from above). This new product is thought to be the standard version of Mijia's air purifier just mentioned.
Recall that in September 2022, Xiaomi launched the Mijia Ultra full-fledged air purifier, which supports aldehyde removal technology. The catalytic aldehyde decomposition filter element equipped with this technology can continuously decompose formaldehyde into water and carbon dioxide, no release of secondary pollution, no need to replace. The aldehyde removal effect is 10 times better than the standard, and it can effectively remove air pollution from home decoration.
The product is also equipped with a solid-state formaldehyde sensor imported from Switzerland, with an accurate digital display of 0,001mg/m³. We find double self-cleaning photoelectric technology and four sets of high-energy plasma generators, which continuously release low-temperature plasma, form high-energy ion field in the filter chamber, release super ionization energy, and continuously disinfect viruses and bacteria attached to the filter chamber. It is immersion filter element, removing harmful gases and odors.
Recall that the Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier Ultra had been launched in China at a price of 4999 yuan, around 680 euros, therefore a fairly expensive product. We expect this new variant to be slightly cheaper.
