Xiaomi towards the "Metaverse" of shopping thanks to augmented reality

Last year Xiaomi officially entered the world of augmented reality. With the "discovery" of Metaverse and all the products and alternative realities that derive from it, each company aims at that goal. Well, even the latest patent filed by the Chinese giant aims towards that target. This time, however, let's talk about a technology that it would revolutionize the way users shop in shopping centers. Let's think about IKEA. We enter the wards and look, a little blindly, for what we need. Well, Xiaomi promises to solve this problem. Let's see how.

Xiaomi is ready to revolutionize the shopping mode of the future: the patent shows an AR navigation so as not to waste more time at IKEA

The documentation provided by Chinese sources indicates that Xiaomi is working on a augmented reality shopping platform. The name of the patent is precisely "Shopping navigation method, device and system based on AR augmented reality technology". In a nutshell, from the patent abstract, we understand that he is planning the creation of an augmented reality system that will serve to guide consumers on the path to their purchases. As? By addressing them directly in a shop or one shelf (think of the IKEA area where the products are packed and ready to be taken) where the product is ready and ready.

We can assume that Xiaomi's augmented reality system could provide much more than that. Let's try to imagine using it smartphone or of the VR glasses that allow us to identify indications, information and anything else in order to facilitate our purchase. Or again: comfortably seated on the sofa we immerse ourselves in the IKEA Metaverse, we buy digitally and the product arrives home by courier.

The latter seems to be a rather useful solution which paradoxically could reverse the market trend. In fact, many complain about the "supremacy" of e-commerce like Amazon. In this way it would no longer be necessary to buy online but we could see a product digitally and touch it with your hand (albeit figuratively). Unfortunately, the registration of the patent is not a confirmation that the idea will actually be applied, but other promising ideas have already been demonstrated in documentation on behalf of Xiaomi.
