How often are we looking for the best rate plan for our smartphone? And how often do we find excellent offers but with SMS included? And we ask ourselves: why do they keep putting these messages into promotions when they are no longer used? Let's face it: they really are poco used and the more we go forward the more they will disappear thanks to instant messaging apps like Telegram and Whatsapp. They also have gods limits: they can contain a limited number of characters and if they include images they “transform into MMS". Xiaomi thinks of a remedy for this e boost SMS with 5G.
Xiaomi's project is to get rid of SMS using 5G connectivity: the messages will be "enhanced" by the new technology
Una updated version of SMS, if we can call it that. Instant messages in 5G, but not using a provider like Whatsapp, just to mention one of the best known apps. This is the goal of the company which, thanks to the collaboration with the three major Chinese telephone operators, is coming to fruition. Xiaomi through the 5G SMS aims to bring down those who are the today's limits of Short Message Services or text messages.
Let's see some limits: the length of the text is limited and therefore also the weight; multimedia information such as videos and images cannot be sent via a “simple SMS” but via MMS o Multimedia Messaging Services; last and not least the problem of the field: how often it happens to have no field and it is impossible to send a message? But there are also other advantages. In fact, if we think about instant messaging applications, we also think about the possibility of create groups to reach as many people as possible. But to do that it is need to create an account and tie it to your number. Xiaomi with the SMS 5G aims to create a platform free of this type of stakes. A further novelty lies in the fact that the transmission of messages is per se encrypted and therefore security and privacy is assured ever.
As we can see in the image above, some users have already started trying the post-sales service, now in beta. The service can be activated in the settings of the MIUI. Several units of Redmi K20 Pro e Redmi Note 8 they had the opportunity to preview this new service and admitted that the possibility of using such a service without the need to download a third party app it's really comfortable. We hope that we in Europe too will be able to count on this in the future.
