The new Xiaomi SU7 caught in the first live photos without camouflage

The next Xiaomi SU7 is making headlines after the recent revelation of a video showing the rear details of the car for the first time of the Chinese brand. The video, spread by a blogger, caught attention for the clear visibility of the "SU7" license plate and the bar-shaped rear lights, distinctive elements that aroused great interest.

The rounded and full shape of the rear, together with the wide-body design, gives the SU7 a look that is distantly reminiscent of a Porsche, suggesting that Xiaomi may be aiming for an upscale market segment. This impression is reinforced by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) photos leaked on November 15, showing the SU7 and SU7 Max with the optional “Founders Edition” lettering.

In those images, the front of the car proudly sports the “Mi” logo, while the Xiaomi branding and the words “Beijing Xiaomi” adorn the tail. Production takes place in Xiaomi's Yizhuang factory, a sign of the company's commitment to the automotive sector.

The customization options for the SU7 are numerous: from the side fenders to the "Founders Edition" lettering on the rear glass, through to styles of rear-view mirrors, roof glass, wheel design and brake calipers painting. This variety of choices allows buyers to customize their car according to their tastes and preferences.

Another noteworthy feature is the option for lidar, which should support high-level NOA assisted driving in urban areas. Even the version without lidar promises to offer “omnidirectional vision”, while still guaranteeing high-speed NOA assisted driving.

Xiaomi has defined the models of its automotive range, which includes four versions: standard, Pro, Max and a track version (not intended for mass sale). Prices are between 190.000 (24,5k euros) and 300.000 yuan (38,7k euros), positioning the SU7 in a competitive range compared to other established brands.

Finally, it is rumored that the Xiaomi car launch conference has been “determined” and will be officially held in Beijing on December 28th. However, Xiaomi has not yet officially confirmed the date of the event.
