The smartphone created in collaboration with CIGA Design, a brand of the Xiaomi ecosystem, was launched to thank the Chinese Mi Fans and its purchase is in fact limited to Xiaomi Youpin users.
Going to the clock itself, as we know traditional watches have always shown the hour hand that rotates by 30 ° and the minute hand that rotates 360 °. The Xijia Mechanical Watch U Series Blue Planet Exclusive Edition instead simulates the rotation of the earth and created a non-synchronous tracking movement, which subverts the gear ratio of the traditional movement and simultaneously features the static hour disc and the dynamic minute disc on a dial, so that the hour hand rotates by 30 ° and the minute hand by 390 °. Therefore it is possible with a single point to indicate both hours and minutes.
The inspiration for its movement comes from the sundial, the oldest timer created by the Chinese. In addition, Xijia's R&D team's original asynchronous follow-up technology movement won the Red Dot Supreme Award as far back as 2013.
In terms of design, the watch uses micro-engraving technology to restore the earth's true sea-land relationship, showing the altitude of mountains, oceans and other terrains. The hands for reading the time are subtly integrated into the marine layout in the form of nautical indexes and the inspiration of the “hands free” watch is presented.
