MediaTek announced yesterday not only its willingness to integrate WiFi 7 into next generation devices. In addition to this however, the company presented MediaTek Dimensity 9000. This is the processor that previously we knew it as Dimensity 2000. Let's go and see its characteristics since it is the first of its "breed".
MediaTek presented MediaTek Dimensity 9000: the first 4nm processor with ray tracing technology and Bluetooth 5.3. Here are the details
MediaTek unveiled its flagship mobile platform Dimensity 9000. In addition to high processing power, it supports the latest wireless standards, 320 megapixel camera sensors and large integrated graphics capabilities. The new SoC is based on microarchitecture arm v9 and is the industry's first manufacturing model based on the technology of TSMC 4 nm process. The platform includes a high-performance Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.05 GHz, three Cortex-A710 from 2.85 GHz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A510s from 1.8 GHz.
La Arm Mali-G710 GPU a 10-core is responsible for the graphics capabilities of the mobile platform, complemented by six dedicated cores for processing AI scenarios. According to the company, the increase in computing power of the new Dimensity 9000 compared to current flagship solutions reaches 35% with a 60% energy efficiency improvement. Also announced support for ray tracing for mobile games and other applications on theVulcan API.
Additionally, the new MediaTek became the first solution in its segment to support 320 megapixel camera sensors and the latest standard Bluetooth 5.3. The platform also includes an integrated 5G modem with support for the 3GPP Release 16 specification. Additionally, the Dimensity 9000 chip has native support for Wi-Fi 6E. Another feature of the model is compatibility with the RAM LPDDR5X (up to 7500 Mbit / s).
According to industry analysts, the new MediaTek will be able to compete with the future Qualcomm flagship, which will be presented in early December 2021 at the Snapdragon Tech Summit. The first devices based on Dimensity 9000 will enter the market in first quarter of 2022.
