Smartwatches have been available since last month Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 will now support the Adidas Running app. For those unfamiliar with it, this is the app dedicated to running by the famous brand of sneakers and sports equipment. The Chinese manufacturer already offers sports and health monitoring features combined with an internal user interface of its app ZEPP Health. However, the last one announcement shows that the brand is bringing support for third-party platforms to its operating system as well.

With this change Amazfit smartwatch users will soon be able to link their Zepp app to other accounts like Strava, Relive, Amazon Alexa, and Google Fit. This time, wearables with embedded operating systems will be able to share exercise and other physical activity data with third-party applications. Notably, the company announced that the feature will be available for most of the latest smartwatches, including the model Amazfit T Rex 2. Also, the Adidas Running app is one such supported app that will be able to sync with new ones GTR 4 e GTS 4.

It should be noted that new functionality requires Zepp version 7.1.0 or later. So now users can expect to see the Adidas Running app in the “Add Account” menu under the Profile tab. It is also worth mentioning that the T-Rex 2 smartwatch has from poco received a long-awaited feature: independent GPS. This feature, not only adds real-time navigation and route import (GPX / TCX / KML formats), but also allows you to use training templates. In this way, users can import route files from the Zepp app and keep track of your progress without having to take out your smartphone while running or walking.
