Ebbeno admit, the title is perhaps slightly clickbait, and someone could nicely say that to save 1000 euro on a smartphone just do not make the purchase. In reality, as the saying goes, "Pulcinella laughing and joking tells the truth", in fact, my friends what real use do you make of a smartphone? Various social, including Facebook and Instagram, a bit of web browsing, some games, WhatsApp, Telegram, read the news of XiaomiToday.it through the application free download from Play Store and some photos. The photographic sector is a fundamental aspect in the choice of a device, more important than a processor, even if often to get a good photo you just need a lot of imagination.

Without this small premise, you could find yourself in the situation in which friends and relatives mock you because you still have that smartphone bought a few years ago and that will never see the update to the latest Android Oreo release, while they are superficial as with their smartphone from 500 / 1000 euro in the pocket can make crazy pictures. You are convincing to buy you the latest top of the range of the best known company in the smartphone panorama but alas the dish cries so why not try remedy with what is offered to us by the fantastic world of modders, drawing perhaps from a huge community like that of XDA.

In my case I pulled out (literally) my "old" Xiaomi Redmi 3S from the drawer, fixed to the Marshmallow version despite the company has released the latest MIUI 9.2 but with no specific function that really bring added value to my terminal. By doing some small research on the Internet, I noticed that it was possible install Android Oreo on my terminal, ed increase the capacity of the photographic sector obtaining photos with fantastic bokeh effect and "stabilized" videos.

I proceeded to unlock the bootloader of my Xiaomi Redmi 3S (actually I had already done some time ago), after which I installed the recovery TWRP specific for the my model and I downloaded among the many alternatives proposed the ROM Pixel Experience is already incorporates the GAPPS so you do not need to flash any other file to get the full support from Google applications and that as the name suggests promises to have an experience in full Pixel style, then Android Stock to the nth degree. I proceeded with the flash of the Pixel Experience ROM and installed the Magisk zip file in order to get the ROOT permissions on my Redmi 3S.

To get the best shots you need to intervene on the settings of the App Camera, with very stunning results: colors, sharpness and exposure compared to the camera stock are significantly better, but what is surprising is the portrait mode that although it is not expressed through a dedicated hardware, returns a satisfying result and better than expensive smartphones. The subject portrayed is well "cut out" and the background really well blurred thanks to the use of the algorithm provided by Google.

Speaking instead of ROM, the installed security patch is that of 5 January 2018 and the version Android is the 8.1.0. It is possible to set theAmbient Display, which will activate the screen when you receive new notifications, although this does not always remain active. But what is important to many is the notification management, from which it will be possible to answer directly from the panel dedicated to them or postpone the report: in practice, on every single notification you can decide whether to repropose it after a certain period of time, so you can watch it calmly without erasing it and then forget it. It is naturally present theGoogle assistant, blue light filter customizable, Google Lens integrated directly into the Photos app but what is surprising is theextreme general fluidity and speed in the execution of applications improving by far the experience of daily use compared to what we were used to before, even in games getting higher framerates.

But do you want to know something? IS' present the release with the face which once recognized will take us directly to the HomeScreen of our smartphone complementing perfectly the fingerprint reader on the back, something that I could never have obtained with my Redmi 3S. What to say a crazy comfort maybe during a very cold day when our hands are kept warm by some super fashion gloves and without having to remove them we can unlock our smartphone directly with a look.

That said, maybe you will have forgiven me for the clickbait title, but you will agree with me that those 1000 euro that I saved you, now you can use them to bring your wife / husband to dinner and with the rest ... well use your imagination.
