All this, however, was possible thanks to a man, who believed a lot in his project and brought him to current levels. This man is the founder of this society and his name is Lei Jun.
He graduated in '91 in computer science, began his career working as an engineer for the Kingsoft, later becoming CEO (CEO) in 1998. In 2000 he founded Joyo, an online bookstore that after four years was bought by Amazon for the sum of 75 million dollars. Subsequently, at the end of 2007, he resigned as CEO of Kingsoft and invested in some companies and then crowned his career by founding, together with a former executive of Google China, the company Xiaomi on April 6, 2010. In 2011 he was designated as president of Kingsoft, through which he joined it with Xiaomi to exploit its cloud storage capabilities for its devices.
Currently, Xiaomi is considered to be the second largest private technology company in the world, with an estimate of 46 billion dollars that make it the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world | Xiaomi smartphone statistics around the world | and the largest in China. | Xiaomi closes the 2015 with 70 millions of smartphones sold |.
