This afternoon, the new Meizu 20 series has finally been officially released. This is the first high-end smartphone brought by Meizu after more than a year of waiting.
Official Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro: Snapdragon 8 Gen2 and starting price of 2999 yuan (400 euros)
The Meizu 20 series comes with a total of two models, the Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro. Let's start with the specs of the standard version that uses one 6,55 inch flat screen with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The panel supports 1,07 billion color displays, anti-flicker low blue light technology, 3% DCI-P100 wide color gamut, and a contrast ratio of up to 5.000.000:1.
As for photography, the smartphone adopts a 50 megapixel super-sensing main rear camera, 122 megapixel 16° ultra wide angle lens and a 5-megapixel depth-of-field lens. Among them, the 50-megapixel camera has a 1/1,56″ photosensitive element and a larger pixel size. It is therefore excellent for taking pictures even in low light conditions.
The camera is also equipped with a new generation of optical image stabilization SMA and full-pixel focus technology, combined with DarkVison 2.0 extreme night scene technology.
As for performance, the smartphone is powered by the very powerful chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2, along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage.
The Meizu 20 has capacity of the battery of 4700 mAh and supports 67W fast charging (supports QC4+, PD 3.0, PPS standards).
Other features on board the Meizu 20 include NFC support to use the smartphone as a car key, Bluetooth and supports data transfer between phone and car. When sitting in the car, the content of the phone can be intelligently transmitted to the car. Things like chatting and browsing can be linked seamlessly.
Finally, the Meizu 20 has one thickness of 7,99 mm and a weight of 190 grams. The factory operating system is Flyme 10.0 developed on the basis of Android 13.0. Four color options are available: Pioneer Grey, Love Pink, Dingsheng Green and Yuedong Yellow.
In terms of price, the Meizu 20 has a starting price of 2999 yuan (400 euros) for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.
Turning to Meizu 20 Pro, the smartphone is bigger with one 6,81-inch Super AMOLED E5 screen with 2K resolution (3200×1440). The panel features up to 1800nits brightness, 1500Hz instantaneous sampling rate, HDR10/10+ support, P3 color gamut, and anti-blue light and anti-strobe SGS certification for double eye protection.
For photos, we find one 50-megapixel super-sensing main camera, a 129-megapixel 50° ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel 50mm focal length portrait lens. The camera setup is one of the major differences between the two Meizu 20 series phones.
The Pro version also supports the system dToF laser focus, which increases focus speed by 33%. With SMA optical image stabilization, EIS image stabilization, Dark Vision 2.0 night scene algorithm and other technologies, the video quality is better, and it is easy to shoot large video in scenes such as landscapes and night scenes .
The performances of the Meizu 20 Pro are the same as that of the basic version, in fact we find the processor Snapdragon 8 Gen2, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal memory.
Otherwise, the battery capacity of Meizu 20 Pro is larger than the standard version, 5000mAh instead of 4700mAh, and it supports the 80W super flash charging (QC4+ standard, PPS), plus 50W wireless charging for which the magazine has already been launched MEIZU PANDAER 50W LED Air-cooled Wireless Tide Charger.
The Meizu 20 Pro has one thickness of 7,8 mm and a weight of 209 grams. The factory operating system is Flyme 10.0 based on Android 13.0.
As for connectivity, the Meizu 20 PRO adopts the baseband Qualcomm X70 with a particular antenna design that allows high network performance. It also supports signal enhancement technology mSmart 5G 3.0 and supports Wi-Fi 7 standard.
Other specs include an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, dual ultra-linear speakers, support for NFC, and infrared emitter.
The Meizu 20 Pro will be sold in China at starting price of 3999 yuan (533 euros) for the 12GB +128GB version.
