Nothing, the technology brand founded by Carl Pei, former co-founder of OnePlus, is preparing to launch its second smartphone in 2023. It will be called NothingPhone (2) and it will be an almost premium device, with some interesting features but also some compromises.

According to a French source, the Nothing Phone (2) will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a slightly beefed up version of last year's top of the line. This means it won't be able to compete with the latest models featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm's new chip for 2023.
However, the Nothing Phone (2) will offer other high-end specs, such as a 256GB or 512GB internal memory and 8GB or 12GB RAM. Furthermore, it is said to have an innovative and original design, in line with the brand's philosophy.
The Phone (2) will also have one AMOLED screen from 6,67 inches with Full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, for greater sharpness and smoothness of the images. The battery will be 4500mAh and will support the quick charge to 65W, which will allow you to recharge your smartphone from 0 to 100% in about half an hour.
As for the photographic sector, the Nothing Phone (2) will have a 64MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. There front camera will instead be 16MP with f/2.0 aperture and will be integrated into a hole on the screen.
The downside is that the Phone (2) will come at a much higher price point than its predecessor. The NothingPhone (1), released in 2022, cost €469 in the basic version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of space. The Nothing Phone (2), on the other hand, will cost €729 for the 8GB / 256GB variant and €849 for the 12GB / 512GB one.
That's an almost double increase, which may put off some potential buyers. However, Nothing hopes to convince the public with its unique and different proposition from other smartphone manufacturers.
