POCO: in the future a MIUI "Lite" and more updates, but not for everyone

POCO has been one of the most promising companies for some years now. Using the advertising boost and not just of Xiaomi, the company has made an incredible leap in terms of both quality and revenue. Of course, there were flops: the POCO M3 has more problems what else, but he is just an unlucky one among so many lucky ones. In any case, the company's plans are promising: it has in fact one in the hat SmartWatch and many other things, including one MIUI lightened for low-end devices. Let's go see the details.

It's all true: the devices POCO low-end will receive a lighter and completely bloatware free MIUI. This is good!

In interview to the portal XDA Developers, the general manager of the company Kevin Qiu and the product marketing manager Angus Kai Ho Ng, they commented on the plans POCO regarding the launch of new products and the development of projects related to the MIUI interface, a system used in all Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones. The manufacturer is reportedly considering the possibility of extend support for Android and MIUI updates in future releases, but executives did not disclose which device lines will be covered with the most updates. Probably the most expensive models, but we're not sure.

poco talks about its ecosystem: tablets, smartwatches and iot products

Furthermore, the big shots of the company also mentioned that POCO Global is interested in developing a optimized version of MIUI, a variant focused on smartphones entry-level which do not have such powerful hardware and may suffer from performance issues. In fact, if we think about it, MIUI is an Android skin very heavy. Unlike other customizations, that of Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO it is full of functionality (even useless, let's face it). This only weighs down the user experience and the device itself.

This statement sheds light on the future of the Chinese giant's system and reveals that "MIUI Lite" (invented name) can fix the huge bugs and flaws present in all versions of the software. In a nutshell: the MIUI for POCO it will be better than normal, albeit thinner. We can expect some sort of Android Go for smartphones POCO. For those unfamiliar with it, Android Go is the operating system adopted by low-end smartphones with hardware poco powerful.
