POCO, the brand partner of Xiaomi, is preparing to launch a new mid-range smartphone in India: it is the POCO X6 Neo, which will be added to the X6 series consisting of POCO X6 5G and POCO X6Pro 5G, presented in January this year. The new device will be available exclusively on Flipkart, the well-known Indian e-commerce portal, and will be officially revealed on March 13th at 12pm local time.
POCO X6 Neo: official teaser reveals launch date and design, also caught on Geekbench
Waiting for the launch, POCO has released an official teaser showing us the design and some key features of the POCO X6 Neo. The device comes with a modern and minimalist look, with flat edges and a rectangular island for the rear cameras. The latter are composed of two sensors, of which the main one is 108 MP, accompanied by an LED flash.
On the front, the POCO X6 Neo has a central hole for the front camera, which should be from 16 MP. The screen is a 6,67 inch OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and refresh rate to 120 Hz, which offers a screen-to-body ratio of 93,3%. The brand promises a frameless design and a thickness of just 7,69 mm.
To move the POCO X6 Neo there should be one MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor, a 6 nm chip with eight cores, of which two at 2,4 GHz and six at 2 GHz. This is confirmed by the device's passage onto the benchmark platform Geekbench, where he got it 778 points in the single-core test and 2.123 points in the multi-core test. The tested model had 12 GB of RAM and Android 14 as the operating system, but there may be other variations at launch.
Il POCO X6 Neo should also have one battery from 5.000 mAh with support to quick charge from 33W, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, IR sensor and 3,5mm audio jack. The price has not yet been revealed, but it is estimated that it will be less than 16.000 Indian rupees, approximately 177 euros at the current exchange rate.
Il POCO X6 Neo presents itself as a direct rival of the Realm 12 5G, recently launched in India with similar features but a higher price. We'll see if the new smartphone POCO will be able to win over the Indian audience with its value for money and its performance.
