Just yesterday, a leak coming from China revealed that a new Redmi product would be around the corner. In particular, it would be a very advanced router with a really interesting design. Well, today the Xiaomi sub brand has decided to formalize its arrival with a teaser that shows us part of this router that could land with the name of Redmi AX1800; let's find out more!
Redmi AX1800: New teaser confirms its arrival
As we can see in the image above, the Redmi router seems to adopt a very particular design. In fact, we see a square-shaped upper part that seems to confirm the parallelepiped design seen in yesterday's leak. In addition, always as already seen in the leak and as by now Redmi tradition, the device will be in black color.
As for the specifications instead, we certainly only have the presence of the new WiFi connection standard 6. The new WiFi standard brings various technologies such as OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) which allows to have a low transmission data-rate by each user; then we have the 8 x 8 MU-MIMO technology (multiple-input and multiple-output) which instead will allow us to use multiple independent radio terminals in order to improve the communication capabilities of each individual terminal, in particular we could use up to 8 terminals at the same time.
Finally, always with WiFi 6 comes the TWT (Target Wake Time) technology, the one that allows the device to negotiate when and how often the WiFi turns on and off, based on when you have to send and receive data. For practical purposes, thanks to WiFi 6 we should see an increase in the maximum download speed of up to 9,6 Gbps. At the same time, energy consumption is significantly reduced, improving the autonomy of compatible connected devices (such as smartphones).
For all other specifications we should wait for the official presentation which will take place on May 13th.
