Redmi's Flagship has a name, welcome to Redmi K20

We had anticipated it yesterday and today it has arrived! No, unfortunately we are not talking about the smartphone itself, which still needs to be presented, but the official name we now know.

The next Redmi flagship store will in fact be called Redmi K20. As we suggested yesterday, the "K" in "K20" stands for "Killer" or Flagship Killer, a slogan that some of you may sound familiar with as it was used by OnePlus at the beginning.

The Redmi K20 will then most likely be accompanied by an older brother, the Redmi K20 Pro, or at least that's what we think after seeing the Protective smartphone film leaked a week ago.

From a hardware point of view, both Redmi K20 and K20 Pro should equip the most powerful mobile processor on the market, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, a front camera with pop-up mechanism that comes out automatically when you want to take a selfie, an audio jack from 3.5mm and NFC technology. All these specifications have already been confirmed directly by the general manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing.

As for the features not yet confirmed instead, the future flagship killer will come with an AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution and fingerprint sensor under it, three rear cameras that include a main one from 48MP (Sony IMX586 sensor), a secondary from 8MP with telephoto lens and a third one from 13MP with ultra wide-angle lens (in practice the same configuration as the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE); while the front camera may have a resolution of 20MP. Finally, the Redmi K20 series is given with a large battery of at least 4000mAh, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory.

We would like to specify that some of the features mentioned above will most likely be on board the Pro version. In particular, the fingerprint sensor under the screen which, being not poco cheap to implement, it could increase the final price greatly. So we could have a K20 version without UD sensor for those who want the best specifications / price ratio and the K20 Pro variant for those who want to go “All In”.

Although the presentation date has not yet been formalized, we expect to see the smartphone in the spotlight during the coming week. We say this because the "competition" (Oppo and OnePlus) will present two similar alternatives in the days to follow, so Xiaomi will have to forcibly put the cards on the table.

Now tell us yours, what do you think of the name Redmi K20? Do you like it or not? Let us know in the comments section below!

For me they should make only one version with different memory sizes of course. Since they call it "killer", sensor under the display and 6/128 is more than feasible at 350 €. In any case, do you think it will come out global?
