In the past several days rumor from China have suggested the arrival of a new medium-high end device branded Redmi. Now, it is not yet clear which series or model it is, but the Asian media are quite sure that the smartphone in question is the next Redmi K40.
New smartphone caught on TENAA, is it the Redmi K40?
To reawaken these rumors once again, a new certificate has just appeared on the TENAA website. In the certificate we see a device with model number M2006J10C which, not surprisingly, is the same number that we had seen a few days ago on another Chinese certification site called 3C. Also on 3C we had also learned that the smartphone will arrive with the support for 33W fast charging and the same model of charger (MDY 11 EX) that is supplied with the Redmi K30 Pro.
Precisely the fact that the same charger as the K30 Pro is used has convinced many that the terminal in question is its "successor", or the Redmi K40. We put the "successor" in quotes as the real successor should be the Redmi K40 Pro, but with Xiaomi and Redmi it is always difficult to be sure.
3C certified
In addition, the smartphone should arrive with a top of the range MediaTek branded processor, the Dimensity 1000+, which therefore would bring performances very similar to those of a 2019 flagship phone. The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ is a chipset with 7-production process nm, an architecture with Cortex A77 core, a GPUMali-G77 and a maximum frequency of 2,6 GHz. There is also 5G and support for dual carrier aggregation.
Among other specifications, the Redmi K40 should equip a display with double hole, as on Redmi K30 5G and a very high refresh rate. But it's not more than 120Hz, but 144Hz, so it could turn into the perfect device for mobile gamers.
