WE.LOCK review the lock that is unlocked with the fingerprint
WE.LOCK it's a lock smart that fits virtually any door allowing it to open via fingerprint, remote control or smartphone.

In the package we find: the electronic lock, which has an adjustable European cylinder and can be adapted to virtually any door. A pair of remote controls which can be used as an alternative to the impression, perhaps at a distance. The tools necessary for mounting and inserting the batteries.
Made in stainless steel, has a nice and solid appearance. The internal part is completely in steel, the external one is in ABS coated with steel that frames the fingerprint sensor and the comfortable who notifies us of the various actions (in English or Chinese).
La minimum cylinder length is adjustable from 7,4cm to 11cm, but it is still possible to install it on thinner doors even if the aesthetic result is worse. Instead, it is essential to check that the distance from the lock is at least 1,6cm, otherwise the size of the knob will not allow the door to be opened.
The external part is in fact the one that houses all the electronics as well as the housing of the batteries (3xAAA). It is easily accessed by removing the hex screw with the supplied tool. L'autonomy promised is one year but even if the batteries run out it is always possible to access via the emergency micro usb socket which can power the lock with a power bank. In any case, when the autonomy drops below 20% you will receive a warning.
The product has a IP44 certification which guarantees protection against dust and the rest. Stay anyway poco indicated in case of torrential rain and in general it is preferable to install it in an area that is at least partially sheltered from the sun and other atmospheric agents that would shorten its longevity.
Il assembly was really easy and anyone with a minimum of manual skills can do it. For the first configuration I relied on the manual in Italian which, although not flawless, is sufficient to guide you in registering the first administrator finger.
Through a small hole on the left front, you access the system configuration to register the administrator's fingerprint (maximum 3) and up to 996 additional fingerprints for the guests. In the system menu we also find the management of remote controls and the setting of the automatic blocking time (from 5 to 15 seconds).
WE.LOCK Operation
Once the lock has been fitted and at least one finger has been registered, the lock can already be used. Just touch the button with the padlock open to activate the sensor and the display, then place your finger on the sensor and wait for confirmation and unlocking of the lock. We will have a time window of 5 to 15 seconds (depending on the settings chosen) to rotate the knob and open or close the lock before it returns to neutral mode by turning empty.
The lock can also be unlocked using one of the two remote controls provided which, if there are no obstacles, can control the entrance up to 10 meters.
Finally, even via the Android app and bluetooth it is possible to unlock the lock remotely.

The WE.LOCK lock can also be controlled via the present application in the Google Play Store.
Once registered to the WE.LOCK service we must match our lock using the QR code on the front and then enter the ID printed on the cylinder so as not to be seen by intruders.
The app is only in English and not very intuitive but some features are noteworthy:
- Remote lock release via bluetooth.
- Access log to keep track of who and when unlocked the door.
- Temporarily sharing access to other people via email.
- Check the battery status.
Conclusions
The convenience of doing without keys is undeniable. It allows us to access one or more entrances without the burden of carrying uncomfortable decks with us. Even the possibility of temporarily sharing access (for example the maid) is really useful in many situations.
From the point of view of safety, we have no advantage since we are still subject to the weak points of a European cylinder. In general I think it is more suitable for a "second entrance" or an external shed.
Considering that it saves us a few euros from buying duplicate keys, the current price on Amazon is that with the coupon discount WELOCKSBR it costs 169 € which is an interesting price for the convenience and functions it offers.
