Challenge between titans: Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro vs. Xiaomi Redmi Notes 3 Pro

A few days ago, Xiaomi presented an enhanced version of its low-end smartphone with a very low price but with medium range specifications, Xiaomi Redmi 3, giving birth to Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro | Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro officially presented |. Featuring a premium metal design with a distinctive rhomboid texture in the back, its Pro variant differs relatively poco both in terms of design and in terms of specifications / performance and if you would like to learn more about the subject, I suggest you consult this article Xiaomi Redmi 3 vs Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro: family comparison |. Today, however, we want to offer you a more captivating comparison between the two Pros of the Redmi series, namely the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.

Design

Aesthetically, both are very similar, if not identical, and this is not surprising since they belong to the same series, namely the Redmi. In fact, the Redmi 3 Pro has abandoned that rhomboid texture that characterized the Redmi 3 to opt for a clean back cover in the Redmi Note 3 Pro style. Always remaining on the back cover, this is where we find the only relevant aesthetic difference, that is the arrangement photo sensor, as well as that of the LED flash. In fact, in the Redmi 3 Pro it is placed in the upper left corner, with the single LED flash to its left, while in the Redmi Note 3 Pro it is perfectly centered and moved towards the top of the back cover, with the two LED flashes underlying bitonals. Both devices feature a metal back cover with two bands at the top and bottom in plastic under which the various antennas are located. As for the dimensions, obviously those of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro are larger but what is surprising is the thickness, as it is almost identical (we are talking about just 0,02 mm of difference), while instead one should expect a lower thickness . The weight is also greater in the Redmi Note 3 Pro which turns out to be 164 gr against the 144 gr of the Redmi 3 Pro.

Hardware

The biggest differences between the two smartphones are found at the hardware level. In fact, in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro we find a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 CPU (2 A72 cores and 4 A53 cores) and an Adreno 510 GPU, which allow this device to achieve better performance than the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro, which has al inside it a Snapdragon 616 octa-core CPU (all A53) and an Adreno 405 GPU. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro I have only one variant with 32 GB of internal memory and 3 GB of RAM, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro has two variants of which one has 16 GB of internal memory and 2 GB of RAM and the other has 32 GB of internal memory and 3 GB of RAM. Both have a hybrid dual-SIM slot that allows you to expand (by sacrificing a SIM slot) the internal memory up to 128 GB via a micro-SD. Another point in favor of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro is the display resolution, as the latter has a 5,5 ″ inch display with Full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), while the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro has a 5 ″ inch display with "only" HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). In the photographic department, we find a 16 MP sensor for the Redmi Note 3 Pro and a 13 MP sensor for the Redmi 3 Pro. Both, however, have PDAF focus and have an f / 2.0 focal aperture, as well as the same sensor 5 MP front. As for the battery amperage, we see a slight superiority of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro over the Redmi Note 3 Pro, as the latter has a 4000 mAh battery, while the Redmi 3 Pro has a 4100 mAh one. They seem few but considering the presence of a less energy-intensive processor and a less defined and smaller display, they lead to the "small" Redmi 3 Pro to have better autonomy than its older brother. Finally, on the software side, in both we find the MIUI 7.2 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and the presence of a fingerprint reader in the back.

Price

As for prices, we are in situations of proximity to each other, as the Redmi 3 Pro is sold at the same price as the 16/2 GB variant of the Redmi Note 3 Pro, while the 32/3 variant GB has a slightly higher price (around twenty dollars) but as we don't know the real prices at which it will be sold by online retailers, we can't be sure.

Conclusions

Certainly both are very good devices na if you are looking for a compact smartphone and has a good autonomy, then you should opt for the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro, while if you are looking for a device with a clear autonomy (surely cover a full day) and with excellent perfermance to play and so on, then I recommend the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.
