The Viomi brand that we know above all for its robot vacuum cleaners (here our review of the Viomi SE) and other appliances, has just presented the new Viomi 21Face 5G Refrigerator at the 5Gᴵᵒᵀ New Product Launch Conference held yesterday in China. The product promises to bring "Big Screen Entertainment, Shopping and Smart Whole Home Control", thus a kind of all-rounder.

Going to the appliance itself, it is a refrigerator equipped with a huge 21-inch screen with a capacity of 520 liters and French style. It uses a RockGlass glass, which is an ultra-resistant glass to scratches and impacts produced in Japan, as the outer shell to protect a double door and the two drawers.
Thanks to the 21-inch screen it will be possible to use the touch function and carry out operations such as shopping through the integrated app, search for recipes and even buy the ingredients necessary for the preparations. The refrigerator then adopts a modern WiFi6 module for a maximum download speed of 1200 Mb / s, which makes it as fast as a 5G device.
So the Viomi 21Face 5G Refrigerator would not seem to really adopt 5G technology but it is completely compatible with the 5G network ᴵᵒᵀ promoted by the brand.
As for the most common features of the refrigerator, the 21Face 5G comes with two drawers with separate lower temperatures depending on whether it is dry or wet food. In particular, the humid zone can keep the humidity around 90%, while the humidity in the dry zone is only about 40%.
In terms of temperature control, Viomi's refrigerator is equipped with 9 temperature and humidity sensors, as well as a radar temperature detection system. We also have a capacity of 520 liters which should meet the needs of an average family and there is a function to open the refrigerator door automatically with just a voice command.
The Viomi 21Face 5Gᴵᵒᵀ large-screen refrigerator will go on sale in China at a price of 12999 yuan, or about 1600 euros at the exchange rate. There will also be a "Young" version (for young people) with only two vertical doors and a price of 4999 yuan, about 640 euros.
