Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X official: smaller dimensions but TOP performance

Xiaomi today presented not only the MIUI 13, but also the new series of devices Xiaomi 12. This is the new family of top-of-the-range devices that come in 3: there are a standard model, a Pro and an X. The latter is the real star of the day as it marks the return of a compact device that users have been asking the brand for some time. But let's see the specifications of each device in detail.

According to Lei Jun, the company's CEO, creating a compact flagship was not an easy task, but the company has succeeded. Make sure that Xiaomi 12 is more comfortable to use than the iPhone 13, as its width is only 69.9mm, but the display size is 8% larger than the Apple device. It also pointed to improved fifth generation connectivity thanks to a unique 15 antenna system.

Xiaomi 12 received a 12 ″ 6.28-bit OLED display with Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. With a maximum brightness of 1100 thread, supports 16.000 levels of light attenuation. The latest processor Snapdragon 8 Gen1 at 4 nm is responsible for the performance of the smartphone and the battery capacity is 4500 mAh.

The main camera of the Xiaomi 12 is a sensor Sony IMX766 1 / 1.56 ″ with a resolution of 50 megapixels. There is an optical image stabilization system (OIS) which is now taken for granted on all top of the range. A 13-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel telephoto lens for macro photography are used as additional modules. According to Xiaomi, the speed of camera launch was increased by 21.2% and night shots are now 39.9% faster. 

In addition, the smartphone uses new technology CyberFocus, which tracks objects in the frame using artificial intelligence to keep them in focus.

As regards the prices, we only know the Chinese ones (converted to the current value in €). Xiaomi 12 starts at € 510 for the 8 GB - 128 GB version. The 8 GB - 256 GB and 12 GB - 256 GB versions will cost € 550 and € 610 respectively.

Xiaomi 12 Pro

The main difference between Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 is in the dimensions: in the Pro model we find a 6.73 ″ display. Compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a slightly larger display (6.73 ″ diagonally against the 6.7 ″ of the iPhone), but the width is 3.5 mm smaller and the weight is 33 grams. 

The other difference between the two models lies in the cameras: Xiaomi 12 Pro owns three 50-megapixel sensors. A wide-angle lens (focal length 24mm) with an aperture of f / 1,9 is attached to the main sensor. Of course there is optical image stabilization. The other two modules feature a portrait lens, and a 115 ° ultra wide angle lens. Therefore, it optical zoom in the Xiaomi 12 Pro camera is performed only by switching between lenses with different focal lengths.

Third fundamental difference is in the battery and in the recharge: Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 4.600 mAh battery with support for fast charging via cable from 120w, 50W wireless and 10W wireless reverse charging. The fast charging of the smartphone is mediated by a proprietary chip: the Surge P1

As regards the prices, we only know the Chinese ones (as above, converted to the current value in €). Xiaomi 12 Pro starts from 650 € for the 8 GB - 128 GB version. The 8 GB - 256 GB and 12 GB - 256 GB versions will cost € 690 and € 750 respectively.

Poco to say about this device: it is a copy of the standard 12 but with a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. Its prices range from 450 € to 530 € depending on the configurations.
