Lo Xiaomi 14 is approaching the global launch: the Chinese flagship has in fact obtained the NBTC certification in Thailand, one of the key markets for the brand. The device was spotted on the regulator's database with the model number 23127PN0CG, the same one that identifies the Chinese variant.
Xiaomi 14 ready for global debut: NBTC certification arrives
The NBTC certification does not reveal any specifications of the smartphone, but we already know everything about its features, thanks to its debut in China last October. Xiaomi 14 is the first smartphone in the world to adopt the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, Qualcomm's most powerful chip for 2024. It is a 4 nm SoC with octa-core CPU (1×3.3 GHz Cortex-X4 & 5×3.2 GHz Cortex-A720 & 2×2.3 GHz Cortex-A520) and Adreno 750 GPU, capable of offering exceptional performance and supporting 5G connectivity.
The flagship of Xiaomi also boasts a 6.36 inch LTPO OLED display with 1.5K resolution, refresh rate to 120 Hz, 3000 nit peak brightness and Corning Glass Victus protection. The panel supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and 480 Hz touch sampling, ensuring high visual quality and responsiveness.
The photographic sector is another strong point of Xiaomi 14, which features a triple rear camera with Leica lenses. The main sensor is a 900 MP Light Hunter 50 OIS with f/1.6 aperture, which promises excellent shots even in low light conditions. The others two sensors are both 50MP: one is an ultra-wide angle with 115 degree angle, the other is a telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom. There front camera is 32 MP and is located in a hole in the display.
Xiaomi 14 has a battery from 4610 mAh with quick charge to 90W via USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable and a 50W wirelessly. It also supports 10W reverse charging to power other compatible devices. The smartphone is equipped with 8, 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. Turn up HyperOS, a customization of Android 14, the latest version of Google's operating system.
Xiaomi 14 is available in China in four colors: black, silver, pink and green. The price starts from 3999 yuan (around 520 euros) for the 8/256 GB version and goes up to 4999 yuan (around 650 euros) for the 16/1 TB version. We still don't know when and at what price it will arrive in Europe, but according to some rumors it could be presented at the Mobile World Congress 2024, which will be held in Barcelona from 26 February to 1 March. We hope that the Pro model, which offers a few more features, such as the curved display and the periscope camera, can also reach the global market.
