Xiaomi 14 Pro will remain a Chinese exclusive: change of direction for the top of the range policy?

The series Xiaomi 14, launched in China, introduced significant innovations in the field of smartphones, including the first use of the processor Snapdragon 8 Gen3. Despite the initial excitement, global Xiaomi enthusiasts are faced with a disappointment: the Pro model of the series it will not be available in international markets. Therefore Xiaomi 14 Pro will not arrive in Italy, according to the information emerged from the code.

Xiaomi 14 Pro will not cross the Chinese borders: the Global variant will not be there

Both models, with the powerful latest generation Snapdragon processor, have received a warm welcome, but recently some rather disconcerting news emerged: the model Xiaomi 14 Pro will not be launched in global markets, unlike its predecessors 13 and 13 Pro.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro is known for its high-end specifications, such as the panel AMOLED with 2K resolution, quick charge to 120W and a camera aperture of F1.46. Despite these characteristics, it will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. The confirmation comes directly from Xiaomi's official servers, which declared that the latest internal build of MIUI for the Xiaomi 14 Pro, identified as MIUI-V15.0.0.1.UNBMIXM is known as HyperOS (the rebranded version of MIUI 15), does not include a global version.

On the other hand, it seems that the base model Xiaomi 14 is destined for a different future. HyperOS Global's ongoing testing for Xiaomi 14 indicate that it will be launched in global markets, with an expected official release in January 2024.

As for the launch in India, a later date is expected, as the specific software for this market is not yet ready. But there is also another thing to consider: just like the Indian version (IN), it is possible, however unlikely, that the Global ROM intended for the European and Italian market it will only be developed later.

For the moment there are no official announcements but we are expecting one confirmation or a denial by the company in the coming weeks. In any case it is worth noting that a similar policy was adopted by OnePlus. Pete Lau's Chinese company has in fact decided that the Pro model will not be there, as it is right that the brand focuses fully on a device unique.
