- folding smartphones will they be the future? This is the question we have been asking ourselves for some years now, even if we are unable to give us an answer. There are those who say yes, there are those who think that the difficulty in making it will never be overcome. In fact it is not easy to build a leaflet "as God commands" and difficulties are there for all to see: Custom and adapted UI, screen that must not break e exorbitant prices from museum smartphones such as I MIX Alpha. However, Xiaomi does not abandon the cause and presents (in the form of a patent) a new one.

Until now we have seen patents with double screens, front and back, but never a patent showing a "normal" smartphone. By normal we mean one that at first glance does not give the "WOW" effect, but that you remember a simple smartphone. With today's patent, Xiaomi has managed to amaze but without too particular effects. From the images we see, it closed smartphone looks like any mobile device. In fact, if we remove the central hinge, the front shows a screen while the rear shows a traffic light for the cameras.
We understand better the "simplicity”Of the device in question by looking at the cover image. Once closed it looks like any smartphone but once opened here is the surprise: a huge display that entirely takes the two "wings" which open like a booklet. The front of the device seems to be, however, identical to that of the Galaxy fold. Also on the front, the screen is not contaminated by holes or notches and in fact Xiaomi has opted for one side strip in which to insert the front photographic compartment. This solution led to the possibility of integrate more than one photo sensor.
Although one foldable smartphone of Xiaomi is in the pipeline, nothing has ever been formalized yet. We do not know whether or when a device of this type will be released. Unfortunately we don't even know if the so-called Mi Flex it will be like what we saw last year in the hands of Lin Bin. Everything is worth seeing.
