Xiaomi asks to go to Google's "Messages" app and not use his

We have long talked about the privacy issue regarding the proprietary messaging app of MIUI. Like this, the native Phone app, that is, the MIUI dialer, was eliminated to make way for that of Google. We know the reasons: the new regulations of the privacy are stringent and only Google has permission to use its services on devices. We also know that Xiaomi is working to reintroduce its proprietary apps but we don't know when. In any case it seems that at the moment the brand is asking users to switch to the Big G application.

A request message from Xiaomi is popping up on the Global ROMs: the advice is to switch to Google's messaging app

In a recent post published on the telegram channel, the team of Xiaomiui pointed out that Xiaomi is communicating with users in a somewhat unusual way. The message that the company is sending on the Global Roms and the Europe ROMs asks to switch to the Google Messages app. THEproprietary MIUI app shows a prompt that gives users an option to install the Google Messages app directly as it allows messaging via Wi-Fi and sharing of high quality media files. These are things that the native application of the brand does not understand. Let's see a screenshot below.

Xiaomi recommends switching to Google Messages. It allows you to send text messages over Wi-Fi, share high-quality multimedia content, and more.

However, it's no secret that many users don't want to give in to this "blackmail". One of the reasons that prevents aficionados from going to the "dark side" is the presence (in the Telephone app) of call recording. Currently this feature is unusable as it is not possible to use it according to EU regulations. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
