Almost two months have passed since first video of Xiaomi's foldable smartphone in the hands of the brand president, Lin Bin. Since then we have not heard of it except for some indiscretion concerning this device.
Well, today, after a long wait, we finally learn new information about the release period and the possible price of the Xiaomi Foldable Phone.
Xiaomi Foldable Phone: Could arrive in June for 999 $
According to some Chinese sites, in fact, the smartphone equipped with dual-fold technology (it folds of times) would be coming towards the middle of the 2019, so not long, for the price of 999 dollars. Now, we know that 999 dollars seem like a lot of money and, in fact, they are, but we must add in the context all the other smartphones with similar technology already presented. Let's talk about the Samsung Galaxy Fold for the price of 1980 dollars and the Huawei Mate X which will cost $ 2600 instead. In comparison, Xiaomi's foldable smartphone seems almost super cheap.
Moreover, the price of 999 dollars does not seem out of place especially if we consider the flagship specifications that almost certainly will equip, in fact we talk about a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, at least 8GB of RAM and a good amount of UFS 2.1 quick memory for storage.
All other specifications remain rather obscure, we do not know the size of the screen either in smartphone mode or tablet mode. But we can take as an example the render saw the other day in which the Xiaomi Foldable Phone is given with a diagonal from 6,5 ″ which then turns into a giant 10 inch.
In conclusion, we still have no confirmed details but the rumors released today suggest that we could clear our minds soon enough. If not even buy it directly online around May / June.
