Xiaomi Mi 10 Explorer Edition and new Mi Pad? Not this year

In 2018, Xiaomi surprised everyone with the Mi 8 Explorer Edition, the first smartphone with a completely transparent back cover that let us take a look at the underlying components, even if they turned out to be only illustrative and not real components. In 2019, the Chinese brand wanted to repeat the same initiative with the Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition which arrived together with the basic version and the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE.

Well, apparently, the Mi 9 Explorer Edition may have been the last smartphone of this type. A famous Chinese leaker would have revealed that there will be no one Xiaomi Mi 10 Explorer Edition with a transparent glass back cover. At the moment we do not know the reasons behind this choice that we should still discover in the future. In any case, it is very likely that despite the fact that the smartphone is liked by most, not many have actually bought the device, ergo the cancellation of the series.

Unfortunately, however, as you have already understood from the title, the Mi 10 Explorer Edition would not be the only product to risk cancellation. The same leaker also added that there is no Mi Pad in development and that therefore we will certainly not see it in the months to follow, provided that the series has not already been totally eliminated. A news that disturbs us but does not surprise us as the latest Xiaomi Mi Pad dates back to 2018. As if that were not enough, the latest Mi Pad 4 series will not even be updated to MIUI 11, becoming in fact an obsolete product from a certain point of view.

Finally, the leaker did not have positive words even for the Xiaomi Mi 10 base. Stating that the smartphone will not adopt a screen with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Even this news does not surprise us as we have never seen a resolution beyond Full HD + on the Xiaomi flagships, so it is likely that it will remain unchanged but with the refresh rate that instead doubles at 120Hz.

As for the other specifications, the display should be curved on the sides, while the device will certainly be powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. We will then have a 108MP Samsung main camera, ISOCELL HMX sensor, fast charging via cable at 65W and 30W with wireless charging.

In any case, the Xiaomi Mi 10 series expected to debut in February, poco before MWC 2020. A leaked poster online even confirms that the date is February 11, not surprisingly the same as the Samsung Galaxy S20 presentation.

Last year I was decided to switch to the Max and delete it (I got Mi9T)… this year I would take a mi pad 5 and delete it.
I'm afraid I'll have to switch to other brands (or be satisfied with a pad4, but buy a tablet in 2020 with only the S660 eats me ..)
