For the project My Unsung Heroes, who also lives online through the hashtags #MyUnsungHeroes and # Mi10TPro, McCurry has selected three celebratory shots that pay homage to three loved ones:
- Tony Vaccaro, American photographer and friend of McCurry, today an incredible 98-year-old survivor of COVID who took some of the most iconic images during World War II. He then established himself as one of the most influential personalities in fashion photography. McCurry portrayed him along with some of his famous shots. The protagonists? Sophia Lauren and Pablo Picasso.
- Lucia McCurry, McCurry's daughter and constant source of joy and inspiration. At the age of four, Lucia has already traveled the world three times. Having the opportunity to see the world through his eyes gives McCurry a whole new perspective, observing details that adults can easily overlook.
- Camille Clech, Manager of Steve McCurry Studios and Head of Exhibitions, is an important part of a very efficient and dedicated staff that has allowed McCurry to travel by publishing books, organizing exhibitions, starting a non-profit organization and managing an archive really challenging. It would have been impossible to achieve everything that now exists without exceptional teamwork.
